How Is Padel Played?

Padel is played in doubles on a 20m x 10m enclosed court with a net in the middle. Players serve underarm after one bounce and can use the walls to extend rallies. Shots like volleys, lobs, and smashes are part of the game, but success depends on positioning, teamwork, and anticipation.

How Does Padel Scoring Work?

  • Points: 15, 30, 40, game
  • 6 games win a set (must lead by 2)
  • Tie-break at 6–6 (first to 7, win by 2)
  • Matches are best of 3 sets

How Big Is a Padel Court?

A standard padel court is 20 metres long and 10 metres wide, enclosed by glass and metal mesh walls (4m high). The court is always for doubles, and the walls are used for rebounds, creating unique angles and strategies.

Do You Need to Be Fit to Play Padel?

Padel is fast-paced but low-impact, making it ideal for beginners, returning athletes, and anyone looking to stay active. It improves coordination, balance, and reaction time without stressing your joints.

Beginner Tips to Improve Fast

  • Use lobs wisely to push opponents back
  • Control the centre of the court with your partner
  • Let the ball hit the wall, then strike
  • Communicate constantly in doubles
